Going on the web without any antivirus software is for certain a suicide action for any user. We all try to protect our PC, but not all of us can really buy an antivirus software to protect our home PC too. Many times when we use a PC we have to move or copy a folder or a file to another place. I am sure most of you already know how to do this, but like we all was sometime ago, are few of us who are just started in all this computer stuff and maybe need to know about this too. This is the same in Second Life when you have to move or copy some items in your inventory from one place to other, or you just need to edit some notecards and do same operations with a word or a sentence. How we do this?

The most easy way to select a file or a folder (in Win) or an item (in SL) is to click on it. You will see how is change something about the color of it when you do this, and that means is selected.

Sometimes you need to select more the one file, folder or items. For select multiple files, folders or items, we have two situations.

1. When we need a continuous selection of multiple items. Then we will use key “SHIFT”. How to do this? Is simple :). You need to select first item you need to be selected (click on it), then press key “SHIFT” and keep it pressed, and you select last item from row or column you need to be selected (click on it with “SHIFT” key pressed). If you do this you will notice how all files, folders, items from first to last are selected together. This is very useful when you need to move or copy more then one file, folder, item from one place to another.

2. When we need a random selection of multiple items from many files, folders, items. Then we will use key “CTRL”. This is simple too. We select first file, folder, item (click on it) and then we press key “CTRL” and we hold it. With CTRL key hold, we click on other items we need to be selected, random, and we will notice items will be selected together without items between them.

Same rules works in SL. Especially when you work in your inventory, this way for selections will help you to move or copy more then one item at a time, saving your time too.
